Studies of healthcare gardens which exemplify emerging
restorative theory and design principles. The
Library is intended to support professionals in the
healthcare and design fields, students, and others committed
to improving patient care environments.
Professional
Consultation

Technical assistance is available to healthcare and design
professionals to assist in presentation of a case for developing a
Restorative Garden, or to enhance existing space with
Restorative design and programming.
Topics may include:
-
An introductory
presentation to hospital administrators, medical staff,
landscape designers and architects on Restorative Garden
contributions to the therapeutic process.

Feasibility studies
to determine the need and potential for garden and program
development.

Patient needs and employee satisfaction surveys.
Garden Development

long-term maintenance required of gardens in an
institutional setting. Constituents may receive the following services:
-
Coordination with designers,
educational programmers, and a support network for
on-going projects.
-
Organization and management during project planning,
design, construction and programming.
-
Facilitation of design, installation, and programming;
evaluation of garden effectiveness.
