Professional Journals

Professional journals represent landscape architects, architects, horticultural therapists, recreational and physical therapists, health care administrators, facilities management professionals,  public health professionals, restoration ecologists and others.  Examples of such publications include  Landscape Architecture Magazine, Architectural Review, and the Journal of Therapeutic Horticulture

These journals are a good source of information about current issues, trends, designers, and recent work.  Occasionally, entire issues of professional journals are devoted to a single topic such as healthcare design but more often, pertinent articles appear over the course of  a year, interspersed with other topics.  Some, but not all, professional journals include research studies.  Scientific studies can be found in the "Scientific Literature" category.
